Latvian expertise
Despite the current financial crisis, which has hit Latvia particularly hard, this Baltic nation, a member of the European Union and of NATO since 2004, remains a good place for investment, with labour costs still substantially lower than in many Member States, a highly skilled workforce and at 15%, one of the lowest corporate tax rates in the EU. With its still relatively unspoilt countryside of lakes, forests and rivers, Latvia is also well positioned as a centre for eco and green tourism.
As a native speaker of Latvian and possessor of a library containing a fully up-to-date and complete set of Latvian legislation in the original language, Zigurds G Kronbergs is uniquely placed to deal with queries on Latvian tax, and translate Latvian materials into English and vice versa.
He already contributes news on Latvian tax and economic and political developments to a number of publications at home and abroad, and has been a member of a group of consultants advising the Latvian Revenue Service.
He is also willing to consider special assignments in this area.
